Travelling is like flirting with life. It fuels deeper instincts. And as it turns out, after a few great escapes it’s hard to stop flirting with life this way. We also believe that there is layering in everything in life. That’s why we never put labels in things we haven’t tried before. But travel has a mysterious way to transform you and to push your boundaries layer upon layer. If this isn’t magic, then what is it?
Our journey of exploring new worlds and lifestyles of people started long ago. Back then, we traveled for travel’s sake. Escape was the excuse. But soon we realized that we wanted to experience something different. And from an excuse, it turned to be a burning passion; Eyes, ears, mind all wide open. We were increasingly hungry for novelty and we knew it.

Some 10,956 miles away
It all started in 2015 during a long trip in the Southern Hemisphere, some 10,956 miles away, in New Zealand. On this trip we weren’t with the people we usually go with and we weren’t in a place we really knew. From our very first moments though, we felt that whatever was happening back there wassomething unique; a life-defining reality. In this piece of earth, nature makes the rules and life gives the shape. It is a never-ending journey.
In New Zealand we also felt the warmth of its people which is deeply rooted in the lives and spirit of Māori; the indigenous people of New Zealand. Māori are proud of their country and its landscapes. They came there more than 1000 years ago from their mythical Polynesian homeland of Hawaiki. What defines them is a strong sense of community and pure respect for nature. As for the way they look after you, is difficult to describe; it’s a matter of honor that goes far beyond prestige.
“Te ora” in the Maori language is connected to life; a life that nurtures and reflects deep connections between the visitor and the host. We felt this connection and its huge energy and we wanted to somehow give it back.
Back to Mykonos
The trip to New Zealand shaped our thinking and influenced our decisions. When we came back to Mykonos we knew it’s about time to start something from scratch. You see, this is our people and the place where we want to be. Maybe that’s because there is something so special in the air of this island. The first thing that strikes us is the restless vibe. It somehow feels nothing like the other islands around.
Mykonos is made for ultimate escapes. Notions of luxury and VIP treatments are part of the experience. But there is also raw beauty and an unconventional spirit coming from a movement of well-travelled people. Operations Manager
His journey of exploring new worlds, spaces and lifestyles of people started long ago. When he began, the goal was simply to travel. You see, he was 16 years old when he booked his first ticket to travel across Europe. Back then Vassilis was involved in Shipping Industry as a trainee and at the same time he was preparing himself to study Finance and then Real Estate Economics. He has always been interested in the world of sales and transactions. Being also the most important person to assist people in finding their ideal homes always triggered him.
At his early trips through Europe, America and Australia escape was the excuse, but he soon realized he wanted to experience something different. And from an excuse it turned to be a burning passion. Teora is about seeking for crafted travel, made by the same passion. It really is as simple as that. The idea was born from scratch with one, sole purpose; to make sure that your time away is perfect. That you will enjoy a handpicked portfolio of one-of-a-kind properties across Mykonos, while seeking more than just great accommodation. This passion keeps growing.
NIKOS ARAVANTINOS
Head of Security
If travel and safety go hand-in-hand, then Nikos is definitely the perfect man for the job. As Head of our VIP Security, he is the person who along with his well-trained team will assure you total comfort at any occasion or under any circumstances. Responsive and discreet by nature, he is always in the background to offer any level of security you and the people you travel with might need. But most importantly, Nikos is the kind of person who knows how to keep his team’s spirit high and how to adapt to any environment. That makes him a great addition to our team.
Before joining Te Ora he worked as Deputy Chief Manager and Security Officer for high-end Security Companies and Organizations, for the Hellenic Football Federation, as well as, for a combo of luxury brands and high-profile people from all over the world. Now, he also runs his own VIP Security Company. When he is not enjoying himself at work, he is a great cook, a kick-boxer and a great father!
GEORGIA PETROUSI
Public Relations Executive
If life’s most important skill is communicating, then Georgia is definitely in the right job. She knows how to communicate what’s what and how thinks work, but above all she knows that if you want to create impact you need something more than grabbing attention. After 20 years in the world of Fashion and Arts in USA, she decided to bring her aura and character to Te Ora and help us tell our story. And definitely, she takes a lot of pleasure being the voice of our brand. When you start working with her, you soon realize that she has her own way of bringing human touch, reflecting, spinning ideas, paying attention to individuality.
Another common secret? Her huge crash with Mykonos. When she first visited the island, Georgia was young and enthusiastic. The sense of belonging and this sophisticated attire the island was reflecting is the reason why she felt connected and kept coming back. Now, she knows this place like the back of her hand. So, bringing her own experience, innovative ideas and passion to this team makes us feel more than lucky.
LAURA CHRISTIANSEN

When you start to look at the broader ways that you can achieve confidence, inner balance or self-fulfilment you realize it’s more than a yoga session or a detox spa treatment. Laura knew that herself long before “well-being” and “wellness’’ became the new buzzwords in travel trends. Half-Danish, half-Greek, she was born in a family where people around her reflected a deeper level of consciousness. A certain slowness and an ability to not just be present, but recognize and enjoy the present. Well-being is part of the DNA of Danish people and as she says “probably that’s one of the reasons why it is never enough to simply visit a destination”. It’s about freedom and discovery”.
When she was looking for slow-go retreat destinations around the world though, Mykonos wasn’t high on the list. But once she turned the postcard over, she realized that beyond its bohemian allure and its sunrise parties, there are still under-the radar gems providing the perfect zen backdrop to pause, disconnect, reflect. And there she is, crafting our retreat escapes.

Born and raised in Athens, Joanna graduated university with a degree in Shipping Management. Before joining our team to get an insight into the travel industry she worked as Costumer Service and Sales Advisor* for a number of Shipping Companies in Greece. But somehow she always knew that her future career will be in tourism.
Her knowledge and clear understating of the business make her a great addition to our team. She is the kind of person who behaves proactively and is 24/7 at the background making you feel that you can rely on her for anything you might need. When she is not on duty, she is a passionate traveler and hotel trotter who finds joy in exploring new spaces, visiting museums and savoring great wine.
VANESSA SAGREDOS
Concierge Director
The bohemian nomad of our team has lived in 4 different cities across the world; San Francisco -where she was born-, Dubai, Amsterdam and Athens. A blend of cultures that shaped her perspective of the world and life. Her mantra is “people inspire people” and getting to grips with human psychology always triggered her. This is the reason why she studied Human Resources in Amsterdam and then attended a Master’s Degree in Business & HR Management in UK. Before giving in travel industry she worked for two years in the ΗR Department on behalf of the largest Investment Group in Southeast Europe.
But Vanessa is one of the most curious people we know and her desire to travel extensively made her see the world differently. Getting under the skin of every destination and engaging with locals was a life-time experience. Because as she says “it’s always people who make the real difference’’. Vanessa also loves the extraordinary, as much she loves arts, fashion, gastronomy and… Greece. That’s why, after all this, Mykonos remained her true place of heart. One of the best parts of her work, apart from crafting personal experiences, is bringing you first exclusive access that one few can enjoy. And, don’t forget; when she says “nothing is off the cards” she means it!

Let us introduce you Alex; our right-hand man. A well-traveled person with knowledge of the island’s top-notch properties who helps us craft our villa portfolio. As a person Alex always behaves thoughtfully and he knows how to listen. The cogs start turning for him as soon as you hit the “book now” button, but they don’t stop till you get back home. His extra-mile attitude is the reason why people trust him, but Alex has also an eye for beautiful places and things. He is a local architecture aficionado. A pure lover of clear and minimalistic design who always looks for spaces with character and aura. Spaces in harmony with their surroundings.
His experience in Villa Management made him soon realize that little things can mean a great deal.
